We are sad to announce that on January 22, 2024, at the age of 96, Richard J. Schoonmaker of Florida, New York, born in Saranac Lake, New York passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert A. Schoonmaker and Ada Blanche Rosebush Schoonmaker; and his children, David, Jeffrey Schoonmaker, Linda Zappavigna and Michelle.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia Dowd; his grandchildren, Mark Zappavigna (Shelly), Jamie Ballard (Joe), David Marfone (Estraya) and Christina Silvestry (Alex); his son Ricky Schoonmaker (Debbie); and his siblings, Edward, George Schoonmaker and Betty Gouger. He is also survived by several great grandchildren.
