It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marsha J. Merkel of Florida, New York, born in Buffalo, New York, who passed away on June 2, 2023, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Frederick Hobbs and Jean Corning (Knobloch); her husband David C. Merkel; and her sister Jean Daly. She is survived by: her children, Sue Gerken (Tim) of East Aurora, Kathy Meyers of Bonita Springs, FL, Donna Almeter (Bruce) of Strykersville, Sandy Noel (Tom) of East Aurora, Charles Merkel of Attica, Mary Szczesniak (Randy) of Strykersville, Joanne Merkel of Strykersville and Andy Merkel (Pat) of Strykersville; and her siblings, Linda Rosenberg of Chicago, IL, Joe Corning of Texas and Patricia Corning (Rosie Colomaio) of East Aurora. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
