We are sad to announce that on November 21, 2020, at the age of 84, James Akin of Florida, New York, born in Gouverneur, New York passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his grandson Tucker Akin; his siblings, Joseph Akin and Shirley Smith; and his parents, James B. Akin and Violet Curtis Akin.
He is survived by: his children, Michael (Linda Akin), Robin (Brad Chastain), Daryl (Ron Schaefer) and Steven (Candy Akin); his stepson Charles (Elsie Higby); his former wife Elizabeth Gorman; and his wife Carolyn Higby. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Contributions in his memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
