He was predeceased by: his parent Oliver Patnode; his brothers, Walton Patnode, Harold Patnode, Robert Patnode and Raymond Patnode; and his great grandchild Dahlia.
He is survived by: his parent Dora Patnode (Lamora); his spouse Violet V. Gilligan; his children, Erla S. Miller (Michael) of Lake George, Peggy-Ann Patnode and Betti-Jo Film (Terry); his grandchildren, Collin Patnode, Derek Java (Carrie), Tracy Bender (Mark), Timothy Oakley (Beth) and Jessica Oakley-Logan (Dave); his great grandchildren, Chloe, Brynleigh, Sawyer and Gabriel; and his siblings, Roland, Mildred and Geneva. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
