He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Shotwell and Effie Shotwell; his wife Sally Merrill Shotwell; his former wife Edna Shotwell; his siblings, Robert and Martha; and his siblings-in-law, Dr. C. D. Parks, Lewis Merrill and Helen Merrill.
He is survived by: his daughter Beth Bowman (David); his grandchildren, Matthew Linn Bowman (Tina) and Amanda Elizabeth Bowman; his great grandchildren, Alanna Eileen and Samantha Kaitlyn Bowman; and his nieces and nephews, Sylvia Shaffer, Lewis Parks, Scott Merrill and Carolyn Parks.
