He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles McLaughlin and Helen McLaughlin (Daly); and his brother Thomas McLaughlin (Barbara). He is survived by: his wife Diane McLaughlin (Moll); his children, William Patrick McLaughlin (Irene) of Floral Park, NY, Kathleen McLaughlin of Breezy Point, NY and Eileen Burleigh (Rick) of Hooksett, NH; his grandchildren, Michael, Kayla McLaughlin, Diana, Rich and Carolyn Burleigh; and his brother Charles McLaughlin (Peggy) of Wilmington, NC. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
