He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Dass and Eleanor Dass; his sister Beverly Wald; and also Jerrilyn Bird. He is survived by: his wife Anne Rutgers; his children, Linda (David Souers), Lydia (Paul Breen) and William (Susan); his grandchildren, Aimee, Bethany, Joanna, William (Danielle) and Diana (Carlos Ferreira); his great grandchildren, Claire, Harper, Quinn and George; his niece Joan (Richard Hinman); and his nephew John Wald. He is also survived by many other relatives & friends.
