He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Sands and Pauline Sands (Grant). He is survived by: his wife Ann Sands (Bushnell); his children, Elizabeth Sands Piga, Amanda Sands Dragon and Scott A. Sands; his grandchildren, James J. Andre and Isla B. Sands; his sisters, Karen Haythorn and Judy Sandeno; and also Bodhi W. Sands. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
