He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold E. MacAvery and Florence I. DuBois MacAvery; his spouse Beverly Laidlaw; his siblings, Harold and Eleanor; and his brothers-in-law, Lee Hoyt and Donald Ager.
He is survived by: his children, Kathleen Bucci (Anthony), Lynn Shortt (Richard) and Robert E. MacAvery; his grandchildren, Anthony (Monica), Heather (Matthew), Nicole, Kristyn, Alyson and Christopher; his great grandchild Aubrey; his sister Janet Lewis (Bill); and also, Martha Ager, George, Grace Laidlaw, Ronald, Cecile Collins and Suzanne Feldman. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations in memory of Robert may be made to St. Joachim's Church and/or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a charity that he frequently donated to.
