He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick B. Haines and Helen Haines (Doncaster); his daughter Barbara Haines; and his brother Frank Haines. He is survived by: his wife Lesia Haines (Gibba); his son Richard W.; and his daughter-in-law Mary Haines. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
