With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Madeline Curtiss of Fishkill, New York, born in Saugerties, New York, who passed away on August 14, 2021 at the age of 91. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Madeline Curtiss to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, James Leonard Hackett and Madeline T. Brown; her husbands, Vincent Hackett (Jen) and James "Bud" Hackett (Loretta); and her sister Helen Bach (William).

She is survived by: her children, Timothy Curtiss (Suzanne) of Wappingers Falls and Margaret Curtiss (Peg) of Hyde Park; and her grandchildren, Daniella and Ashley Curtiss. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

“We are deeply sorry for your family. Madeline was a sweetheart. She was my mom's (Ann) roommate at Wingate and the two ladies quickly became friends. My husband and I felt like she was another member of our family when we were in their room. She was very kind to let me call her cellphone to speak to my mom since my mom wasn't able to keep her own cell phone due to vision and hearing issues. The two women would move their wheelchairs close to each other and pass the phone back n forth.”
