He was predeceased by: his parents, Thompson Layton and Ruth Layton (Backus); and his brother Gerald Layton. He is survived by: his wife Linda Carielli; his daughters, Melissa Layton (NJ) and Jayme-Lyn Layton (Terence O'Malley) of New York, NY; his grandchildren, Declan and Margot O'Malley; his son Gary Fileman (Arianna); his grandchildren, Mackenzie and Madison of Florida; his sister Marie Miller (Sam); his nephew Tim of Tennessee; and also Tom Layton (Stephanie) of Florida. He is also survived by uncle and very close to his many nieces and nephews.
