He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph T. Sr. Kuhl and Belva Kuhl (Tyler); his brother Timothy Kuhl; and his brother-in-law Thomas Huntington. He is survived by: his sister Susan Huntington of Butler, TN; his sister-in-law Terry Kuhl of Champions Gate, FL; his niece Lindy Landzaat (Mark); his nephews, Daniel Huntington (Shauna), Adam Huntington (Nikki), Jordan Kuhl (Alexis), Travis Kuhl (Kali) and Parker Kuhl; and his close friend Kathy Mohorter. He is also survived by four great nieces; four great nephews; several aunts and cousins.
