He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Thomas V. and Helen Rowley Garvey; and his sister Margaret Purcell. He is survived by: his wife Eileen A. Meany; his children, John Jr. (Cheryl), Ellen Anderson (John), Kevin (Kathleen), Regina, Edward (Beth Ann), Patricia and Thomas (Michelle); his grandchildren, Travis, Ryan, Meghan, Kathleen, John, Caitlin, Alison, Erin, Keriann, Sean, Megan, Matthew, Dylan and Jack; and his siblings, Donnell J. Kelly, Thomas Garvey, Anne Sanchez, Dr. Donald Garvey and Helen Garvey. He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.
