I will never forget how kind he was to me in 1979, including me with his seminarians from Rockaway in attending Pope John Paul II events in Yankee and Shea Stadiums. “My last memory of him was as my confessor several years ago on Reconciliation Monday. Ir was just before closing and he was leaving as I was arriving and we met on the street. We both walked back into St. Roberts and sat in a pew, just the two of us. He heard my confession and we chatted for a bit. A wonderful and kind man. Will miss his presence and homilies. RIP (Rest In Paradise) Monsignor.”
