He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy McCarthy and Daniel McCarthy. He is survived by: his grandson Liam James; and his siblings, Dotti (Bob), Jane and Kevin (Regina). He is also survived by nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

“Daniel j. McCarthy, Jr. also leaves behind his youngest sister, Bernadette McCarthy Molisso (Peter). Danny, we had a ,sometimes, difficult sibling relationship, you as the middle kid, me as the baby of a large family. I always wished we could have been closer but never found the key to that. We were both tough nuts to Crack. But we have wonderful childhood memories of each other that no one else has. I'll always miss that and you. Love, Bern”
