He is survived by: his sister Marge Ronner; his former wife Judith; his children, Thomas Murphy Jr. (Michelle), Elizabeth Dormer (Patrick) and James Murphy (Jenn); his grandchildren, Amanda Murphy (Tyler), Tommy Murphy, Connor Dormer, Zachary Dormer, Aidan Murphy, Mackenzie Murphy, Caoilinn Murphy and Reilly Campbell (Scott); and his stepgrandchildren, Rachel Weeks, Emily Nguyen (Leo), Justin Weeks (JT), Brady Weeks and Jeremy Weeks.
