She was predeceased by: her parents, Selah Merchant and Mina Waite Merchant Franklin; her husband Robert G. Marris; her close friend John W. Minor, Sr.; her son Arthur "Mike" Custer; and her brothers, James and Gerald Merchant.
She is survived by: her children, Susan Sellen (Ernie) of Erieville and Randy Marris (Heidi) of Hoboken, GA; her sisters, Jane Parker of Pitcher, NY, Peggy Johnson of Bath, NH and Marggie Merchant of Lenoir, SC; and her grandchildren, Justin Marris of Norwich, NY, Crystal Payne of Canastota, NY, Jason Sellen of Prospect, NY and Jeremey Sellen of Pasadena, MD. She is also survived by eight great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
