He was predeceased by: his parents, Myron Shlatz and Anna Maslak Shlatz; his wife Barbara Murphy Shlatz; his children, Richard Shlatz and Deborah Lynn Shlatz; and his grandmother Katherine Maslak.
He is survived by: his daughter Katherine Shlatz (Kathi); his grandson Alexander T. Maki (Tina Barbasch Maki); his sister Linda Shlatz Henderson; his nieces, Lauren Henderson (Nathan Ali) and Kristin Henderson O'Brien (Daniel); his great-nephew Quinn O'Brien; his great-niece Ashley O'Brien; his cousins, Michael Maslak Jr., Katherine (Katie Madson) and Julia; his uncles, Mike and Pete; his aunt Julie Maslak; and also, Brooke Madson and Magnolia Langston.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 14th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Vestal Hills Memorial Park Cemetery (3907 Vestal Rd, Vestal, NY 13850).
