He was predeceased by: his wife Evelyn; his son John; his parents, George and Meta; his sisters, Harriet, Eleanora, Eugenia and Dorothy; and his nephew James.
He is survived by: his son Edwin; his grandchildren, Samantha Koehler, Holly Koehler, Lindsey Koehler and Jacob Koehler; his cousin Arlene Lundquest; his nephew Mark Horan; and his nieces, Harriet Horan (Hatsy), Susan Enders and Martha King.
Ernie was very generous and gave to over 25 charities including the American Alzheimer's Association and Berea College.
