“I am so very sad to just learn this news. A friend of Alexandra's from her days at Copiague High School, I visited her at her parents' homes, in Ridgewood, and in New Hampshire. We exchanged so many letters, throughout our twenties and well into our thirties. I remember her beautiful writing, constant reading and delight in celebrating with food, and especially, her fierce commitment to women's rights in health.
