He was predeceased by: his parents, Hilda Shafer and Orby Shafer of Scranton. He is survived by: his children, Kristie Nicolosi (Steven Lagos), Ralph "Chip" Shafer, Jr. (Susan Wolf), Katrina Shafer and Peter Shafer (Lori); his sister Jean Wiglesworth; his grandchildren, Izobel Shafer, Eva Nicolosi and Celia Shafer; and his brothers-in-law, Reverend Richard E. Dellos and Robert D. Dellos. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
