With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James S Baker (Endicott, New York), who passed away on January 14, 2024 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Baker and Myrtle Baker; his former wife Joan Baker (Pipher); and his siblings, Marion, Jane, Edward and Charles.

He is survived by: his wife Rebecca Baker (Gow); his children, Jeffrey, Julie Carter (David) and Jennifer; his grandchildren, Samuel, Grace and Ella; his stepchildren, Elizabeth Newton (Jeremiah), Andrew Peters (Jennifer) and Katherine Cummiskey (David); and his stepgrandchildren, Rachel, Josephine, Joceyln, Aaron, Brynn and Margot.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in his honor to Mercy House in Endicott, NY.

“Dear Jeff, Julie, Jennifer and families - Please accept my condolences on the loss of your Dad. I remember all of you from Central Church "youth" days. He and your Mom were so active - and had such a positive impact on all who met them! It wasn't too long ago that I ran into him (at another funeral) and he excitedly told me about the potato project.
