With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Martha Josephine Capek of Eltingville, New York, born in Brooklyn, New York, who passed away on November 14, 2022 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Salvatore DeChristino and Connie DeChristino (Todaro); her brother Phillip; and her husband Howard. She is survived by: her children, Howard (Rita), Anthony (Nora), Salvatore (Pilarr) and Annmarie Pesa (Tom); her grandchildren, Michael, Emma, Thomas, Arianna, Matthew, Ava, Anthony, Mackenzie and Salvatore; and her sister Josephine Stashenko (Joseph). She is also survived by her parents, siblings, grandparents and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful if you would consider a donation to one of the children-centered special needs and education-based organizations Martha had enjoyed supporting over the years - either The Villa Maria School (villamariaschool.org), or the Bernardine Franciscan Sisters (http://www.bfranciscan.org), or the Grace Foundation of New York (http://www.graceofny.org).
