He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruth and Harold; his siblings, Ken, Vivian Birdsall and Maryanne Mood; and his daughter Pam.

He is survived by: his wife Sherry; his children, Michelle Borger (John Borger), Elizabeth Bonsignore (Phillip Bonsignore) and Stephen Green (Jessica Green); and his sister Marylin Huff. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren.

“Sherry I am so sorry for your loss but like you told me once when I lost my father he's with our Lord now. I was just thinking back as to the first day that we moved in and you would came onto the porch and had said welcome neighbor and Steve just sat there and smiled and said yep. Then he found out that my father-in-law had also did the males study at the prison. I always always thought that your husband was such a sweet man. He was always willing to speak up. Sorry so late.
