With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Sandra Jean Swan (Elmira, New York), who passed away on April 7, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her mother Pat Darby; her stepfather Jack Darby; her father Jim Vanderpool; her stepmother Jenny Vanderpool; and her sister Barb Gardner.
She is survived by: her children, Tim Swan and Melissa Perry; and her siblings, Gloria Decker (NY), Linda Keehan (NY), Deb Correll (KS), Judy Darby (NY), Jean Willard (NY), Jim Vanderpool (TN) and Bill Vanderpool (MO).
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Walter J. Kent Funeral Home (858 Lake St, Elmira, NY 14901). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Woodlawn Cemetery (1200 Walnut St, Elmira, NY 14905).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Alzheimer's research in her honor, ensuring that her memory continues to inspire hope and healing for others.
