He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert S. Lares and Katherine L. Lares (Keenan); and his father-in-law Stewart Eilenberg. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis J. Lares (Eilenberg); his children, Hunter D. Lares of Buffalo, NY and Rebecca K. Lares of Albany, NY; his siblings, James P. Lares and Gen; his mother-in-law Phoebe Eilenberg of Elmira, NY; and his sister-in-law Paula Eilenberg of Staten Island. He is also survived by three aunts, an uncle, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Falck Cancer Center or Arnot Health Foundation, both at 571 St. Joseph's Boulevard, Elmira, NY 14901, in Michael's name, would be greatly appreciated.
