It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kim E. Backer (Elmira, New York), who passed away on December 5, 2019, at the age of 61, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Frances Vertoske and Shirley Vertoske; her friend John Backer; her aunt Helen Beckman (Honey); and her granddaughter Delanee Becraft.
She is survived by: her siblings, William Vertoske (Sue), Bryan Vertoske (Barbara), Donald Vertoske, Kathy Riley (Jim), Karen Paige (John) and Mary Beckman (Dan); her daughter Katie Backer-Becraft (Anthony Joe); her grandchildren, Avery and Eastyn Becraft; her aunts, Rita Westervelt and Betty Harter; and her close friend Mike Denicola. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
