She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Bernas and Madeline Wallitt Bernas; her husband Alan Douglas Carpenter "Doug"; and her sister Maureen Bernas. She is survived by: her children, Daniel Carpenter of West Seneca, NY and Patricia Gurnsey (Jeffery) of Horseheads, NY; her siblings, Mary Bernas Margeson (Ray) of Elmira, Anne Andrews (Robert) of Elmira, Paul Bernas (Laura Betschen) of Elmira, Joan Blanding (Doug) of Florida and James Bernas (Kathy) of South Carolina; her sisters-in-law, Marie Polovick (Daniel), Colleen Carpenter and Julie Ferris; and her cousin Richard "Dickie" Bernas. She is also survived by five grandchildren, and one great grandson.
