She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Ronald Owens; her son Derek Owens; her daughter-in-law Teresa Hewitt; her grandson Ryan Owens; her daughter Renee Owens; her son-in-law Patrick Hord; her pet Phoebe; and her parents, George Barrows and Margaret Larham.

She died as a result of pneumonia brought on by Covid-19.

Her family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to a local Humane Society or child abuse prevention charities.
