He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Joseph Allen Cumming Sr. and Helena Monticello Karns; his wife Gladys Cumming (Glad); his children, John (Sheila) of Bellaire, Richard (Lynn) of Concord, NH, Cynthia Weigle (Luke) of Durham, NH, Betsy Bills (Steven) of Sterling, VA and Douglas of Elmira; his grandchildren, Laura, Luke, Daisy (Daniel), Kelly and Sarah; his stepgrandchildren, Jane (Todd), Brette and Paige; his sister-in-law Joyce Shutts (Robert); his cousin Terry Shannon; his siblings, Joanne Hammond (Gene), Bob Collins, Robert Shutts, Jimmy (Barbara Shutts) and Richard (Marlene Shutts); and his grandparents, Mollie Nash-Karns, Harry John Karns and Joe. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
