He was predeceased by: his parents, John H. Cleary and Margaret Cleary (Gaughan); his grandparents, Martin, Edith Gaughan, John and Lenna Cleary; his uncle James; and his aunt MaryAnn Grant.
He is survived by: his siblings, David Cleary, Anne Cleary, Nora Ripley (David) and Jennifer Rosplock (Kyle) of Elmira; his children, Victoria of Elmira, Jonathan of Elmira, Abigail of Elmira, Sarah of Elmira, Lizzie of Elmira, Ellie of Elmira, Ethan of Elmira, Julian of Elmira and Johnny of Woodstock, VA; his uncle Michael; and his aunt Nancy Cleary of Monroeton, PA. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
