He is survived by: his wife Beatrice Gardner; his children, Angela Williams (Joseph), Donald Bliss Jr. (Sabrina), Amber Bliss, Danielle Bliss, James Gardner Jr. and Charles Gardner; his siblings, David Simpson, Ronald Simpson, Clayton Simpson, Calvin Simpson, Louise Simpson and Evelyn Carl; and his stepsister Sharon Hanshaw. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.
