He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Maher and Mary Maher (Saginario); his brother John R. Maher; his parents-in-law, Herbert and Margo Freeman (Stadler); his brother-in-law Roger Freeman; his niece Mary Maher; and his nephew Ted Maher.
He is survived by: his children, Pamela (Todd Curren), Patricia (Bob Howe), Colleen Maher of Elmira and Joseph Maher (Kari Shannon) of Charlotte, NC; his grandchildren, Joshua Curren (Samantha) of Mosherville, PA, Zachary Curren (Samantha) of Pine City, Emilie "Yogi" Curren of Elmira, Rob Howe of Pine City and Tim Howe (Kara Ellis) of Pine City; his great grandchildren, Luna, Seren Curren, Sawyer and Jackson Curren; his sister-in-law Carol Maher of Elmira; his nephews, Peter Maher (Sharon) of Elmira, John Maher (Kathy) of Breesport and Michael Maher; his cousin Steve Fesh (Linda); and his godson Danny Jo Mandell.
