He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Hillyard Hart and Ellen Elizabeth Hart; his aunts and uncles, W. Kenneth, Frances Merrill, G. Leonard and Marion Merrill; and his grandparents, Athel D., Mary G. Merrill, Josiah and Margaret Hart.
He is survived by: his wife Lois; his son Derick Merrill Hart of Elmira; his grandchildren, Riley Merrill and Abigail Elizabeth; his daughter Michelle Leigh Crowley; his grandchildren, Colin Thomas and Aubrin Grace; his cousins, Scott, Nancy Merrill of Florida, John, Linda and Thomas Mansfield of Vermont; and his close friends, Leah "Beth" and Philip Siskin.
