“I volunteer with Beacon Hospice. My dog and I would visit Florine on weekends. She would immediately put me to work, tidying her room and straightening up her wigs. I always told her that she looked like she was headed to a party -- or to church -- and that would get her to laugh a little. And no matter how bad she was feeling, she never complained. I'll miss her but am relieved that her suffering is over.”
