With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Edith L. Rumsey of Elmira, New York, born in Elkland, Pennsylvania, who passed away on November 1, 2023 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Ralph King and Alice King (Binkey); her husband Harold Rumsey; her son Jay Rumsey; and her granddaughter Heidi Drake.

She is survived by: her daughters, Jo Carpenter of Horseheads, Deborah Drake of Fort Wort, TX and Susan Smetanka of Big Flats; her sisters, Joyce Vangelder, Nancy Southard and Carolyn Southard; and her grandchildren, Nicole Carpenter, Chad Carpenter (Lisa Farr), Kristen Hilker, Stacey McIntosh and Jason Drake. She is also survived by 2 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephew.
