He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Sawyer and Beatrice Sawyer (Martin); his daughter Denise Ann Sawyer; and his grandson Kevin M. Cicci. He is survived by: his wife Beverly; and his children, Donna Keefe, Debra Donovan (Mike), Donald Sawyer Jr. (Terri), Diane Beam (William), Darlene Seymour (Paul), Edward Sawyer, Dorothy Adams (Rick), Danny Sawyer, Dolores Carrigan (Dennis), Dawn Cicci (Melvin), David Sawyer (Linda) and Dale Sawyer (Jennifer). He is also survived by 28 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.

Due to Covid 19, the family will celebrate Don's life at a later date.
