He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Hamilton and Bernice Hamilton (Smith); his children, David A., Martin A. Hamilton and Theresa D. Hamilton; his former wife Rosemary A. Hamilton (Cantando); his siblings, Ada Harvey, Wanda Hayes and Ivan "Butch" Hamilton; and his son-in-law Robert S. Cox.
He is survived by: his daughter Bonnie J. Himmelreich of Saratoga Springs, NY; his grandchildren, Katie, Madison Hamilton, Michael S. and Bonnie Hamilton of Elmira; his great grandchildren, Brittany, Kasey, Victoria, Ian Hamilton, Carol S. Cox (Peter Spoor) of Saratoga Springs, Jordyn, Gabriel, Skyler, Ella, Levi, Adeline, Myles, Brooklyn, Elyse, Jayden Daly, Michael Reznor, Christian Reep, Ava, Rylann Naroski, Vincent Farley, Zachary and Alexa Howell; his sister Sibyl Burke of Buffalo; his son-in-law Mark Himmelreich of Holiday, FL; his sister-in-law Elizabeth "Libby" Cantando of Horseheads; and also, John Cox (Courtney), Alexandria Cox, Jeffrey J., Cathy Hamilton, Jessica Farley, Erin Howell, Holly C., Christopher Cox of Horseheads, Emily, Abigail, Jackson Cox, Scott J., Ingrid Hamilton of Issaquah, WA, Jordan Hamilton, Tracey H., Brian Fitzgerald of Painted Post and Caitlin Fitzgerald. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
COVID-19 protocols will be in effect and the church capacity will be 90 people.
In lieu of flowers donations may be directed to a fund established to restore the eyesight for Don's son Jeffrey who lost his sight years ago. Donations may be directed to Michael Hamilton, 240 Fairway Ave., Elmira NY 14904.
