He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Blide and Miriam Blide (Curns); his brother William; and his siblings-in-law, Anthony and Mary Cerio.

He is survived by: his wife Josephine (Cerio); his children, Donald A (Bonitta Blide, Jr.), Marie Blide (David Reger), Andrew B. Blide of Elmira and Joseph (Lisa Blide); his grandchildren, Jamie Dauphinet (Joe) of Horseheads, Joseph Blide, Jr. (Ellen) of Horseheads, Lydia Buck (Christopher) of Horseheads, Sarah Blide of Horseheads, Claire Thurston (Aaron) of Watkins Glen, Taylor Blide of Elmira, Madeline Blide of Horseheads and Courtney Sullivan of Horseheads; his great grandchildren, Brody, Reese, Kadence, Rylee, Thomas, Lucas, Drew and Grayson; his sister Marylou; his brother-in-law Bob Benedict; and his sisters, Dee (Bill Cotterill), Angie (John Barbito), Toni (Charles Blide), Cathy (Ed Jadoski) and Joyce Blide. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
