It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Diane E. Swarthout (Elmira, New York), who passed away on February 1, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her sister Karen Stempfle; her parents, Muriel Stempfle (Updike) and George Armen Jughulian; and her son Christopher Swarthout. She is survived by: her former husband Duane Swarthout; her siblings, Robin Harness and John Stempfle (Janet); her children, Timothy Swarthout (Connie), Scott Swarthout, Melissa Rinker (Daniel) and Karen Gordon; her grandchildren, CJ, Micah, Ashley, Katlyn, Holly, Kara, Gabrielle, Corey, Ethan and Dakota; and her great grandchildren, Isabelle, Madaly, Xoie, Mason, Izabella, Vaughn, Lea, Gabriel and Levi.

In lieu of flowers, friends and loved ones can make a donations in her memory to St. Jude's Hospital or the Josh Palmer Foundation.
