It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Derek M. Nichols of Elmira, New York, who passed away on July 23, 2021, at the age of 39, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Edward Nichols; his grandparents, Harold Nichols and Lois Coble; and his stepfather Dominick Milone. He is survived by: his mother Michelle "Mitzi" Milone of Elmira; his sister Desiree Burleson (William) of Watkins Glen; his daughter Noelle Nichols; the mother of his child Valerie Baker of Horseheads; his grandmother Joanne Nichols of Elmira; and his nephew Camden Shaffer of Watkins Glen. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
