She was predeceased by: her parents, George Newell and Vera Newell (Cook); her husband James L. Scott, Sr.; and her children, Leroy Scott, Jerry Scott and Brenda Woughter.

She is survived by: her children, James Scott and Sheila Swarthout (Jody); her grandchildren, Delos Carl, Michael Martin, Jessie Carl, Justin Martin, Kayla Carl, Nick Scott and Andrew Scott; and her niece Teresa Dears. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
