He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernice Smith and Eugene; and his siblings, Mattie Slater, Johnny Ashford, Cornelia Liggans and Robert Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Sandra Blacksher (Rodney), Gloria Wells (Roman), Mickey Gaskins (Joseph) and Arthur Smith Jr. (Aisha); his siblings, Chester Smith and Elizabeth Hentz; his friend Mary Mortimer (Bill); and his grandchildren, Chris, Rodney Blacksher, Morgan, Megan, Millennia, Roman Wells, Raemel Kinner, Debria, Debron, Ajah, Ajhan, Kamin and Kymon Smith. He is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
