It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Merill Andrew Morgan Jr. of Elmira Heights, New York, who passed away on February 27, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Merill A. Morgan, Sr. and Arloine Mae Morgan (Hawley); his parents-in-law, Willam Basil and Gladys L. Spiak (Wood); his stepmother Beatrice "Bonnie" Morgan (Seeley); and his siblings-in-law, Rosson Wood, Ronnie Perry, Charles Robert, Gladys Hart (Spiak), William, Lorraine Spiak, Richard Duane, Barbara Spiak and John Arthur Spiak.
He is survived by: his wife Mary F. Morgan (Spiak); his children, Tom Morgan (JoLynn) of Elmira Heights and Melissa Morgan-Beaver (Fred) of Elmira Heights; his grandchildren, Justin B. Munson of Horseheads, Brendan Morgan (Olivia) of Marion, IL and Lauren Morgan-Reilly (Matt) of North Tonawanda, NY; his great grandchildren, Mya Jade Munson of Horseheads, Justin B. Munson, Jr. of Horseheads and Emma Rose Munson of Horseheads; his siblings, Sandra Perry of Hubbard, OH, Jacqueline E. Wood of Jamestown, TN, Dianna Vert (Lee) of Pine City and Scott Morgan (Susan) of Richland, NY; his siblings-in-law, David and Roseanna Truesdale of Horseheads; and his close friends, Howard Weiburg (Lana) and Joan Lyon Ayers. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Walter J. Kent Funeral Home (858 Lake St, Elmira, NY 14901). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery (623 Franklin St, Elmira, NY 14904). A burial was held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the same location.
