He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Matthews and Edna Matthews; and his sister Norma Mae Matthews. He is survived by: his wife Mary Lou Matthews; his son Ronald Matthews (Brenda); his granddaughter Tara Matthews-Cuevas (Guillermo); and his siblings, Warren Matthews, Marabel Julian, Virginia Kabel and Dorothy Ballantine. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
