He was predeceased by: his parents, Anton Speas and Ida Schauers Speas; his wife Suzanne L. Hull Speas; his sons, Rodney S., Todd M. and Jeffrey A. Speas; and his siblings, Albert, William Speas, Cecelia Chambers, Doris Marsh, Helen Madonia, Margaret Johnson, Ruth Slagle and Joyce Frank.

He is survived by: his children, Timothy A. Speas of Ellington and Cindy A. Bly (Kevin) of Cherry Creek; his grandchildren, Jessica Hoitink (Brian), Reece Bly, Rylee Bly and Joselyn Speas; his great grandchild Nicolas Hoitink; and his sister Deloris Bloomquist of Falconer.
