He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Friel and Mary Friel (Donovan); and his siblings, Joseph Friel and Mary Freitas (Joseph). He is survived by: his children, Michael Friel (Judy) of East Aurora and Karen Scharf (Tom) of Ellicottville; his sister-in-law Sharon Friel of Ellicottville; his grandchildren, Brooke Kasprzak (Andrew), Chelsey McKay (Brendan), Danna Poling (Joshua), Jessica Friel and Tarah Hopkins (Dalton); and his great grandchildren, Addison, Hailey, Olivia and Ally. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, February 3rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Mary RC Church (22 Jefferson St, Ellicottville, NY 14731).
