He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Mercer and Callalee Mercer (Spittler); his siblings, Roger Mercer and Ellen Jackson; and his nephews, Tom Mercer and John Jackson.
He is survived by: his niece Teresa Wagner of Ellicottville; his nephew Doug Johnson (Kay); and his close friends, Tom Lowry and Mark Stinnett.
