She was predeceased by: her spouse Rev. Tommie Steele; her parents, Willie Kirk and Hettie Kirk (Atkins); her son Kenneth Steele; and her siblings, Catherine Adams, Lena Martin, Lucille Lane and Robert Pete Kirk.
She is survived by: her children, Tommie Kirk, Jr. (Laura) of Memphis, TN, Frederick L. Steele of Ellenville and Alphonso Steele (Cynthia) of Melbourne, FL; her grandchildren, Rafiki Kirk, Roshad Kirk, Joy, T. J. Kirk, James Kirk, Latisha Steele, Ashanta Steele, Shifone, Denise Augustus, Elisa Steele, Dorlea Steele, Kiana Steele and Ranasha Harvey; and her siblings, Maple Bell, Uneda Heard and Norma Dammier. She is also survived by 55 great grandchildren.
